Sculptra

Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator that rebuilds and restores the skin over a long period of time. It leaves you with a natural-looking result, without changing your appearance drastically, and giving away that you have had an aesthetic treatment. Just skin that feels like you again.
Sculptra is made from Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), which helps to improve the appearance of deep wrinkles and folds and correct fine lines, as well as volumising facial hollowness or fat loss.
It’s the ideal choice when collagen replacement or an increase in facial volume or firmness is needed.
2-3 treatments are usually required, at intervals of 8 weeks. Then just one treatment per year to maintain. The number of vials required will depend on the size of the area(s) to be treated.

BEST KEPT SECRET!

Within weeks of your treatment, a gradual, soft increase in your skin’s (dermis) thickness begins, as your fibroblasts (skin cells) are stimulated to produce collagen.
This continues over several weeks, giving you a subtle, natural look and a gradual improvement in your appearance.
This is the big advantage of Sculptra – so much less obvious that you’ve had something done than some other aesthetic treatments.
92% of patients surveyed AFTER 2 YEARS agreed that their skin’s firmness and radiance had been restored.
9/10 were satisfied with their appearance 2 YEARS AFTER treatment.

IS IT SAFE?
Sculptra is FDA approved and CE marked and comes from Galderma, a reputable company. It has been used and loved worldwide since 1999. It contains Poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA) which is biocompatible and absorbed naturally by the body.
WHICH PARTS OF THE FACE CAN YOU TREAT WITH SCULPTRA?
The best areas for treatment are the temples, the whole of the cheek area and the jawline.
DOES IT HURT?
A local anaesthetic (LA) is mixed with Sculptra prior to use and a LA cream is applied to the treatment areas prior to the procedure, but you may still experience a little discomfort and brief stinging or burning sensations during your treatment.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Once you have completed your course of 2-3 treatments, results can last 2 years or more.
A single yearly maintenance treatment is recommended however, to avoid having to do a whole course of treatment again and to maintain optimum results.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Commonly, injection site pain, redness, bruising and tenderness. Also sometimes, itching, lumps forming, bleeding and swelling.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER TREATMENT - IS THERE ANY AFTERCARE?

Makeup and active skincare is best avoided for 24 hours.
Also avoid prolonged sun exposure, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and vigorous exercise.
You will be given an aftercare pack by your practitioner and advised to massage your treated areas for 5 days after the procedure:
5-5-5: 5 minutes massage, 5 times a day for 5 days.
This is to ensure optimum results and to prevent any lumps forming.
